During the Milan Design Week 2023, Motel D, alongside Diorama.eu, The Crosses, and Andothers Studio, hosted the Technicolor event in collaboration with Nakamura.ke and House of Ronin.
The event's name draws inspiration from the cinematic process that captures an image using three colored filters. This reference, a sign to Diorama's digital contribution, comes to life at Motel D through three spaces themed in red, green, and blue.
The "Blue Bar" is bathed in blue light that fills the area, enhanced by immersive projections from Diorama on the curtains, creating a unique atmosphere throughout the evening.
The "Ramen Bar," set up in the main hall, features a long table symbolizing conviviality, ready to serve fluorescent ramen and Nakamura.ke’s eccentric cocktails. The beautiful floral arrangements from Copihue Floral Studio, along with lanterns, Shoji screens, and colorful lights reflected off the curtains, evoke the vibrant energy of Japanese nightlife, creating a warm and inviting space.
Finally, the "Karaoke Bar," nestled in the heart of the coworking area, transforms the space into a karaoke venue inspired by House of Ronin. Guests unleash their inner performers on the small stage, sipping their drinks between songs
The bar counter frames the scene, surrounded by a cascade of green lights coming from the ceiling. The spirit of Tokyo's Shinjuku district permeates the entire environment.
The setup was created with the support of Gallotti & Radice. In addition to custom furnishings, part of the installation was made using reclaimed materials, reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability.
